This year, in addition to organizing sailing school in »Biograd na moru« we also organize sailing school in Izola. We have prepared intensive courses run by experienced instructors, where you can learn about sailing, maritime skills and life by the sea. Each day begins with one hour lecture on theory, followed by 6 hours of practical sea exercises (sailing, landing, navigation ...).

Beginners Course
Each day begins with theoretical session in Marina Izola. Followed by practical session carried out in the surrounding waters before and throughout the Izola Slovenian Sea. Every day finishes in Marina Izola.
Students are constantly switching positions on the boat, so that for each task of each maneuver in all exercises, all participants will master and attain the course objective to become a good and useful crew member who will be able to handle a number of predictable and less predictable situations at sea.
Topics covered practically and theoretically in the beginner course:
learning about the boat and its equipment
proper and safe handling of the equipment
nodes
base-sail aerodynamics
sailing in all directions regardless of wind
tacking (Crossing)
jibing (rotation)
maneuver-man in the sea
shortening main sail
changing the front-sail
folding sail
base-meteorology
basics of navigation
to moore a bouy
to moore engine at the pier (lateral, with the bow, to feed)
Advanced 1. stage Course
Each day begins with theoretical session, followed by a practical session. First three days of the advanced course take place in Marina Izola and its surrounding waters. The rest of the course is usually spent between Izola and Pula (depending on weather conditions), since many of Istrian lighthouses, shoals and small islands are excellent sites for day and night navigation.
Students in the advanced course also change positions on boat, so participant will master all of the tasks of each maneuver in all exercises.
The aim of the course: to breed a good and responsible boat leader and its crew with due respect to the sea and its powers.

the consolidation and extension of knowledge in the matter of the beginners

rise and descent of the spinnaker
sailing with spinnaker, plants (circulation) with spinnaker
night sailing, night navigation
servicing equipment
The initial race course
It is aimed for all of those who have already acquired prior knowledge and for those who desire to participate in particular recreational regatta.
Students are swapped at all positions on the boat. In case of a potential participation in a regatta, the instructor takes over the position of the skipper.

Number of practical sessions, theory in particular during the sailing.
Starting point: Izola
Sails from Izola to Kornati and back (also depends on weather conditions) Ideal for all those who would like to know from previous courses and acquire upgraded more experience.
Advanced Topics course:
the revision of afore gained knowledge in actual situations
management-intensive navigation organization-boat and crew for the long voyage
